Good evening to my friends, family, neighbors, and other wonderful acquaintances. You each know who you are.
Today was a good day. I started out this morning by tidying up one of my scenes from an earlier chapter with about 300 words. I wrapped up just now with the completion of Chapter 5; adding in another 1,500+ words. That brings today’s total to 1,800+ words and brings my November (NaNoWriMo) total to 8,600+ words for the month through 11/09.
I’m still a little light, averaging a little under 1,000 words/day. This puts me on pace for 30,000 words. I think I can make up with a little extra time on the weekends.
First, all that matters is that I’m creating the story as I see it and I’m fully committing to the process. Second, it’s fun and ultimately that is why I do this. The target for novel completion is January or February of 2024 so I think we’re on track to make that happen.
