I had a slightly slower night tonight, but I put some time into workflow and scene integration that slowed me down a bit. As a small “creative reveal” I also realized tonight that I will have to spend some of my editing time going back and enhancing existing or adding some additional action scenes for pacing purposes. Just little things I’m feeling as I review certain parts of the story.
It’s not just the words or the word count. The story is about the flow, the feel and the connection. I can write a million words, but if the reader doesn’t connect with that character or engage with the hook of the story it is all for naught. I think that is the joy of doing this in part; the challenge of not only telling your story, but telling it to readers who will share in its life.
So, only 1,100 words tonight that brings the entire total, when I add in the “+” numbers I’ve been pushing aside is now 15,800 words for the month. So for you numbers guys that means I need 34,200 for the remainder of November to reach the 50,000 word challenge. It’s a personal goal.

Stick with me. I’m seriously targeting January or February to finish up and get this thing to editing. Publishing may take a bit longer, but I honestly hope to have formatting and publishing around the end of the first quarter.
