Should have been clear about that before:
NaNoWriMo is “National Novel Writing Month”. This is an annual challenge to write the equivalent minimum for a novel which is 50,000 words in thirty (30) days.

My last entry for the day today.

I took the night off last night and engaged in the community happy hour. I have the most awesome neighbors in the world here. People tell me about how they are reading my book and enjoying it. They are getting things out of it that mean something to them and that means the world to me. In all honesty so far as I’m concerned, the highest honor that I can have as an author is to have another person tell me they are uplifted or in some way positively impacted by my work. What more could we possibly ask for as authors or as human beings.

For the day today I’ve added another 1,500+ words totaling just over 10,200 words for the month. Tomorrow I hope to have a good day. I labored a bit today, but had a great breakthrough about 8PM. This led to a session over the next two hours that just flowed until I completed the missing and previously puzzling part of another chapter.

This is all so fantastic for me and such a joy.

I truly am “Enjoying The Journey”. Thank you for joining me.

(That’s a picture of me in 1991. It was just something that hit me this evening. It’s one of my favorite pictures taken as we transited the Straits of Gibraltar. It was the day of that picture that “Shock & Awe” began and the operation went from Desert Shield to Desert Storm. The story is the sweatshirt, however, which was given to me in 1990 by the captain on my first ship when I failed to bring cold weather gear with me on our trip to South Korea for Team Spirit. The day we pulled into the harbor in Busan it was freezing rain. The captain laughed at me as I was heading out to assist with docking and gave me the sweatshirt. He told me afterwards to keep it. I wore that thing the entire time I sailed and for years after until it finally wore out; a constant reminder to keep yourself squared away and be prepared for anything. – Sea Stories are wonderful things.)

God Bless all of our Veterans. Thank you for your service.
